Novalea M. Jarvis, B.BA, LL.B
In 1985, Novalea Jarvis obtained an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in finance, from Acadia University. She graduated with her LL.B from the Faculty of Law at Queen's University in 1988 and was called to the bar of Ontario in 1990.
Novalea initially practised family law, employment law, estate law, and general litigation at Kingsmill Jennings and at Miller Thompson. She then practised soley family law at Karen A. Thompson Professional Law Corporation. Novalea founded Jarvis Law in 2010, specializing her practise to family and child protection law. She is proud to provide quality, cost-effective legal advice and representation to all of her clients.
Novalea is a Dispute Resolution Officer for the Brampton, Milton, and Oshawa Superior Courts of Justice and is on the Family Responsibility Office panel. She is an active member of Legal Aid Ontario and provides services to clients who qualify for Legal Aid in both the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice.
Between 2007 and 2011, Novalea taught family law, civil litigation, advocacy and employment law, as well as 10 other areas of law, while employed as a part-time legal instructor at Trios College and Sheridan College. Novalea continues to present an annual seminar on family law for the Victim Services Unit of the Halton Regional Police Service and has presented for both the Ontario Bar Association and the Halton County Law Association on various topics.
Novalea has been married for more than 30 years and has 4 children. She understands the stresses of modern family life. She has the life experience and the legal knowledge to help guide you through a family breakdown and to assist you in moving forward with your life.
Kassandra E. Kelertas, B.A., J.D.
Kassandra Kelertas attended the University of Guelph and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts having completed a Double Major in Criminal Justice and Public Policy and Sociology.
In 2017, Kassandra worked as a Library Assistant for the Halton County Law Association
Kassandra graduated with a J.D. from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in 2019. She was called to the Bar of Ontario as a lawyer in January 2020. While attending Lakehead, she was a student member of the Ontario Bar Association, was the President of the Indigenous Law Student Association, and the Co-President of the Mental Health Association. In 2019, she became a member of the Child and Youth Section Executive with the Ontario Bar Association.
Kassandra is on the board of directors for the Halton County Law Association and has assisted in planning HCLA continuing education programs, such as the Child Protection Webinar Series in 2021 and 2022.

Kassandra is an active member of Legal Aid Ontario and provides services to clients who qualify for Legal Aid in both the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice. Kassandra acts as duty counsel at the Milton Court. Kassandra practices in the areas of family law and child protection law.
Kassandra is further a member of the Family Law Limited Scope Services and can provide unbundled legal services and services on a limited scope retainer for specific services and tasks.
Katrina V. Kelertas, B.A, J.D.
Katrina Kelertas attended the University of Toronto, St. George Campus, and was a member of St. Michael’s College from 2010 to 2015. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelors of Arts, having completed a double major in Sociology and Aboriginal Studies, with an unofficial minor in Classical Studies.
Katrina worked part-time as a Legal Assistant with Jarvis Law from 2010 until 2015.
Katrina attended the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay , graduating in 2019 with the degree of Juris Doctor. Katrina was called to the Bar and obtained her Barristers and Solicitor’s Licenses with the Law Society of Ontario in August 2020. Katrina is an active member of Legal Aid Ontario and provides services to clients who qualify for Legal Aid in both the Ontario and Superior Courts of Justice.

Michelle Rigucci is an integral member of our team. She is our full-time Law Clerk and Executive Assistant as of September 1, 2015, and takes care of accounting inquiries. Michelle has a B.A, from the University of Toronto.
